The Beaver Scout age range is from six to eight. Children can join Beavers after the age of five and three quarters if it is considered appropriate by the Leader.

The Cub Scout age range is from eight to ten and a half. Under some circumstances, Cub Scouts can join the Pack as young as 7 1/2 if, for example, they have friends joining at the same time, or are mature enough to move on early from Beavers (and there is space in the Pack). Such decisions are taken by Cub and Beaver Scout leaders.

The Explorer Scout age range is from fourteen to eighteen. Scouts may join Explorers between the ages of thirteen and a half and fifteen and may move on to Scout Network between the ages of seventeen and a half and eighteen and a half.

The Scout Network age range is from eighteen to twenty-five. Explorer Scouts may move on to Scout Network between the ages of seventeen and a half and eighteen and a half. Members must cease being a member of Network on reaching at the age of twenty-five.
